Bethnal Dream exterior
Bethnal Dream reconfiguration

A new chapter for a family home, collaborative design and careful budgeting, crafted details and material warmth.

This mid-terrace Victorian house was in probate condition when our clients, a young family, set out to make it their forever home. The house required gutting, extending and complete refurbishment to create a series of modern living spaces with warmth, practicality and lasting appeal.

Bethnal Dream reconfiguration

Beacham Architects worked closely with the homeowners to shape the brief, test design options and balance aspirations with cost. Planning permission was granted for both ground floor and loft extensions, with construction phased to suit the family’s budget. The first phase, the ground floor extension, was completed in 2016.

A cohesive interior palette ties old and new together. Black mosaic tiles and herringbone brick paving define the exterior, while herringbone timber floors and a deep blue shaker kitchen bring richness inside. Brass handles, white Corian worktops and full-height joinery, complete with an integrated workspace and cloakroom, add subtle sophistication to this thoughtful transformation.
