The homeowners wanted to extend their lower ground living space into the rear garden to create an aspirational open plan living space with lots of natural light and connectivity to the garden and landscaping.
The design work included a reconfiguration of the existing living spaces, the rear ground floor extension and landscaping to connect the different rear garden levels.
The focal point of the scheme is a huge feature kitchen island through the middle of the kitchen and dining space – the kitchen island allows for dining as well as cooking with space for entertaining and social cooking.
The rear extension includes stacking doors and a window seat and creates a connection to the rear garden all year round.
The ceiling design includes exposed oak beams and large format skylights for ample natural light and views to the sky.
The aesthetic of the interiors and the interior lighting scheme were developed working closely with the homeowner resulting in a contemporary scheme that uses natural materials and textures with a sophisticated neutral colour palette.
The interior lighting scheme includes accent lighting between beams and to work surfaces as well as task lighting for the window seat and kitchen island.
