A Victorian flat reimagined with height and light, space, light and connection, old and new in dialogue.
Originally a modest two-bedroom Abrahams flat, this North London home has been transformed into a striking double-height space with new upper-level bedrooms, a terrace and a renewed sense of flow. The project includes a full refurbishment and fit-out, with a new loft extension housing two bedrooms and a shower room.

The design makes imaginative use of the existing roof volume to create a dramatic double-height living area where the kitchen, dining and living spaces flow together. The eaves, which would otherwise be lost to storage, now form a mezzanine level that adds character and spatial richness. The kitchen opens onto a new first-floor terrace, connecting the home to its garden and providing a seamless link between inside and out.
Original Victorian features, including the chimney breast, are contrasted with crisp new insertions such as the staircase and mezzanine structure. The result is a home that celebrates its heritage while embracing contemporary living. The master bedroom overlooks the living space with shutters that can be closed for privacy — a playful and flexible gesture that reflects the balance of openness and intimacy throughout.
The result is a one-of-a-kind home that brings together period charm, thoughtful craftsmanship and modern design.
